Dance, 2019
A short video for the project ‘1 word = 1000 words’. I was supposed to complete a video with 1000 frames to deliver the concept of the random keyword. And my keyword was 'dance'. At the same time, the video should be mute and in black & white. Besides, the video should be a seamless loop.
What I wanted to convey through this video was that 'dance is everywhere around our daily life'. From my perspective, the most crucial factor of dance, which made it different from random movement, was rhythm. And rhythms were hidden behind our daily life, like neglecting beats. Therefore I collected the footages of variant types of dances around the world and shot the footage from my daily activities and combine them with a specific order, I also applied various transitions between them.
